San Diego Attractions

Reliably temperate year-round, San Diego confidently refers to itself as “America’s Finest City”.   The nation’s eight-largest city, San Diego delivers everything from famous tourist attractions, bustling city life, art, museums, breezy beach scenes and a host of active outdoor activities.  Let’s start with its most widely-recognized attraction:  the San Diego Zoo.

Animal lovers revel over the selection of 800 species to admire at the San Diego Zoo.    The zoo is located in the northern part of Balboa Park.  Since the animals are most active in the early morning hours, plan to arrive as early as you can for maximum animal playtime previews!  Pick your favorite animals first, because the zoo is so large that it is tough to accomplish in one day.  See koalas, pandas, Komodo dragon lizards, elephants, apes, lions, tigers and bears (oh my!) The San Diego zoo gardens, animal performance shows and children’s zoo exhibit will make lasting family memories.

Discover other family-friendly activities along Pacific Beach and La Jolla beaches. Get butterflies in your belly on the amusement park-style rides on Pacific Beach’s Journey to Atlantis.   While Pacific Beach is highly-commercialized, settle down some by touring La Jolla’s upscale boutiques and cliffs that overlook cerulean waters.   Scuba dive or snorkel off La Jolla Cove.   Pace down a groomed walking path traces the shoreline for half a mile while sea lions show off just beyond the beach.

The Gaslamp district is your go-to, tried-&-true hot spot for nightlife.  San Diego’s hottest bars, clubs and restaurants revitalized this downtown district.  You might catch a buzz just wandering the sidewalks electrified by the party scene.  Live music, DJ’s, creative cocktails and classy cuisine provide savory excitement from everyday life.   There are many dining and drinking options here.   A quick search based on your personal taste or craving is all it will take to pinpoint the right restaurant for you near your Worldmark timeshare.
